Never. Stop. Learning.

"The capacity to learn is a gift; The ability to learn is a skill; The willingness to learn is a choice."

I regularly get the exasperated question 'Is there anything you CAN'T do!?' and I usually reply with; "Yes - the monkey bars!"

Truth is, of course there is SO much I can't do - yet.

YET.

The quote above couldn't be more truthful. We have so much ability and capacity to learn, but so many of us forget that. Some people don't want to upskill or find it important enough to try. They doubt themselves, fear failure, can't find the time, don't back themselves and find excuses. Yes, you are busy, we all are. That's when priorities and dreams must be rejigged to make it happen. If you want something enough you can make it happen.

I have so many things I want to do, places to go, businesses to launch, sights to see, skills to learn, languages to master and instruments to conquer.

We never ever stop learning and the only barrier to you refocusing and learning a new skill, that thing you've been pushing to the bottom of your list for years - is you.

I got two guitar lessons when I was 15 and very quickly decided it was NOT the instrument for me, too complicated, multitasking, uncomfortable. I did do one term of piano when I was 7 or so followed by a few years of choir.

Well guess what? 14 years later and I have decided that's BS, I believe I CAN learn the guitar, I want to learn the guitar so dang nammit - I will 😂😉

Tonight I did my first free YouTube lesson on my borrowed guitar (so money isnt an added excuse) and I learnt 5 strums and 2 chords!

My other goals this year include another half marathon, a short course in Te Reo, reading one book per month and keep chipping away at learning mandarin with Izzy.

What is something you've ALWAYS dreamed about learning but never found the kick you needed? Just imagine the pride you will feel once you get there!

P.S. I'm adding monkey bars to my list for next year

What do you want to learn or achieve this year that you've been putting off?
